Sixty-nine years in one town, and the same yard the whole time.
In their own words: “Established in 1957, we're a 3rd generation local, family-owned business.” Bauer Electric opened in Waupaca in 1957 and has never moved. The building on County Highway QQ still has “BAUER ELECTRIC, INC. est. 1957” on the sign out front, and it is the same address the trucks are dispatched from today. The business is now in its third generation of family ownership, which in practice means the person who answers the phone has likely already heard about the barn, the shop or the house in question, or knows someone who has.
What has changed is the range of work leaving that yard on a given day. A stray voltage call at a dairy barn, a drive motor that needs retuning on a plant floor, and a panel upgrade at a house can all go out the same morning, from the same crew, because Bauer never narrowed itself to one kind of building. Residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial electrical work are treated as one trade here, not four separate businesses sharing a logo.

One crew, four kinds of building
A farmer calling about stray voltage in the parlor and a plant manager calling about a drive that won't hold speed are, from the shop's point of view, the same kind of problem: something in the wiring or the controls is off, and the cost of leaving it is measured in lost production either way. Bucket trucks, trenchers, a platform lift and underground locating equipment sit on the property rather than in a rental yard, so pole work and buried service runs are ordinary jobs here, not a subcontract.
We are licensed and insured electrical contractors, and estimates on planned work are free. Emergency calls are answered around the clock, because a barn that loses power at two in the morning is not a problem that can wait for business hours.
